Annie D. Perdue Obituary
Annie Virjeane Danner Perdue (Bootie), 72, of North Wales, PA, passed away on May 12, 2017, due to stomach cancer.
The funeral service will be held at Zion Baptist Church in Ambler, PA. The Viewing will be Friday May 19 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. The service will be held immediately afterward. Burial will follow the funeral at Fairview Cemetery, 1511 Twining Rd. Willow Grove, PA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Campbell Family Funeral Home of Glenside, PA.
Annie was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 3, 1945. She graduated from Westfield High School and continued on to receive Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Chemistry from Knoxville College in Tennessee. There she met Courtney Jehu Perdue whom she later married, they moved to Connecticut and had two children. They later divorced.
Annie had a varied career. She worked as Technician in a laboratory for Pratt & Whitney. She worked as a teacher and as an underwriter for Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company. She also worked for the State of Connecticut as a social worker before she retired. Annie was very involved at Third Baptist Church in Suffield CT where she was the Church Secretary and a Sunday School teacher as well as being involved in a number of ministries. When she moved to Pennsylvania she joined Zion Baptist Church where she was involved in the IRS Seniors ministry and she enjoyed attending Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, travelling and reading her bible.
Annie is survived by her two children Samara Renee Heaggans (John), Tarek Derval Perdue (Roberta), three grandchildren; Tyrus Perdue, Talon Perdue and Reid Heaggans. Four sisters; Rosa Dean Holcomb, Earlie Curry, Florine Epps, Margie Williams, Dorothy Proctor, one brother Robert Danner and a number of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Annie is preceded in death by her parents; Walter Ivory Danner and Annie Mae Parker Danner, and three brothers; John James Danner, Malon Danner, and Walter Ivory Danner.
The family of Annie D. Perdue wishes to thank her Zion Baptist Church family for all of the cards, visits, prayers and support. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Abington Warminster Hospice and Palliative Care Center for their support in her final days.
