Elaine O'Donnell Obituary

-

Elaine San Diego O’Donnell passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2nd, 2021. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 23rd, 1955 to the late Flaviano and Eusebia Belmonte, both of whom successfully immigrated to the US from the Philippines; Flaviano after several attempts from 1926 to 1939, and Eusebia through sponsorship as a Registered Nurse after serving in the Army Nurses Corp of the Philippines during WWII. Elaine was a loving mother to her seven children: Leslie, Ryan, Jonathan, Hugh III, Matthew, Kerri, and Brenna; ‘Bamba' to her five grandchildren: Brynn, Connor, Kelsey, Owen, and Lincoln; sister to Ray, Janet, Carole, and Sharon; and fur mama to the newest addition to the family: her adored dog, Honey.

Inherently selfless and nurturing by nature, Elaine had an affinity with Saint Jude and devoted herself to a life of service as a Licensed Practical Nurse for thirty years. She took great pride in caring for her patients and their loved ones as if they were her own. She possessed an undeniable warmth and openness to all who crossed her path, and found great joy in watching her family evolve and grow. Those closest to her also knew her to have a spunky sense of humor and an undeniable sweet tooth. She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Elaine’s time on earth will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Campbell Family Funeral Home in Glenside, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Make a Wish Foundation or Penn State IFC / Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON.org). All are welcome to attend and encouraged to join her family in wearing color to commemorate her radiant spirit.
