Sheldon S Shores

Sheldon Shores, of Wyncote, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Wyncote Place.  He was 72 years old.  He was the son of the late Manuel and Rose Shores of Wyncote. He is survived by his brother, Randall Shores, California. Sheldon graduated from Cheltenham High School in 19__ and also attended Temple University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.  Sheldon worked as a radio DJ in Wyncote and also in Connecticut following his graduation from Temple.  He later obtained a Master’s Degree in Education and became employed as a high school teacher at Piper High School in Sunrise, Florida.  During his employment at Piper High School, Sheldon founded a high school radio station, WKPX, which was operated by his students and continues in existence to this day. Sheldon later moved to San Jose, California, where he continued teaching high school math.  Sheldon retired from teaching and returned to Wyncote in 2013, where he resided in his family’s original residence.  Sheldon enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad, with his students in a high school travel club that he founded in California and after his retirement.
